In this project, I tried to create my own version of the typeface of David Carson.

David Carson was born on September 8, 1955, in Corpus Christ, Texas, US.

Until the age of 26, he worked as an high school teacher in California and was an competitive surfer. In the age of 26, he enrolled into a two week commercial art class and commercial art school after that, before working as a designer for the small surfer magazine.

He then spent four years as a part time designer. In his designer career, he developed his charachteristic style including the features like chatotic spreads with overlapped photos and mixed and altered type fonts drew both admirers and detractors.

For the photographer Albert Watson, he was such an artist who uses type the way a painter uses paint, to create emotion, to express ideas.

With the years passed ans succsessful art career, he awarded an AIGA Medal in 2014.

In his designs, we can see the influences of the Swiss artist Hans Rudolf Lutz.

For creating my own version of TypeFace, i used photoshops smart sellecting features for creatinjg two differenyt piece as background and face and after that, I created two pieces of my face.

with help of gradiant tool in photoshop, I fixed my photo and created a gradient effect in the middle of the frame.

after that, with the help of my type tool and masking tool, i masked the left side of my face and created a type mask.

after fixing my gradient again, my typeface project was finished.

I learned about the basics and shortcuts in photoshop in this excersise. Next time i would like to improve my gradient and colors but also the place and size of my type.
