STORYBOARD

I wanted to create a storyboard for an animation which shows the minis adaptable side for everything.

I'm planning to focus on how it is stylable and suitable for everyone, from racers to teens and families.

With a short transformation between street lamps and some shots, I planning to create four different mini designs.

Blue for freedom, orange and pink for teens and hippie style, red for performance, and yellow for family.

In the first two seconds I panning to show Mini Cooper text then left only "O O " for turning them in headlight of the mini.

For telling about the adaptable part of the Mini, nearly 13 frames will be used and that means I might need to reduce it or make it fast.

As the second part, I'm laying to show the performance part of the mini with a reference to Monte Carlo race.

9 seconds will take the race and flag scene.

After finishing my rough sketch of the storyboard on my sketchbook, I decided to draw it in a more clean and big space.

In my clean storyboard, I made some changes to the background and environment. I also decreased the panel number since it needs to be 30 seconds.

To represent the freedom and the mini we going to have in the event, I decided to have a blue mini Cooper and start with it on our journey. Our second place will be 60s London so I wanted to use orange since it was a popular colour in that era.

With the girl at the back, our next colour will be pink which represents more famine, cute and young side of the mini front of Bentall which we can still find in 60s London.

After showing our cute and young side, I wanted to remind the Monte Carlo race with the classic red mini, with its 37 number on it.

With the yellow finish flag, we end our race in front of our family's house with the young boy being happy to hear the car sound. With the Mini turning yellow, we lastly see the family car side of the Mini. I wanted to look at how mini is for everyone.

To make it more clear, I'm planning to have an extra scene at the end which says "Mini, For everyone.".

This photo from a 60s cartoon was one of my inspirations about the woman in the layer 5.

Also the idea of using colours and sketchy, mat feeling was from different cartoons.

We can see these things better in the cleaned-up animation.
