Keyframes

As a warm-up, we animated a hot air balloon. Our asset was an Adobe Illustrator file which was imported into After Effects.

That small, thin grey line represents our animation path.

We mainly used the "position" section.

As a slow beginning to After Effects, we tried to animate our name moving into our frame through the outside of it.

After creating our text, we can find the "transform" section under the text layer.

This section is where we made all our differences and movements. We can control and see them on the screen near to it. To make our name move, we need to use "position". We are taking our blue bar to the beginning of our timeline and positioning our name to where we want it to start, outside our frame. then we are moving our blue bar to the second we want our movement to end and our text to the place we want it to stop.

Then we are easing these keys. When we chose these two keys, we clicked right on our mouse and chose "keyframe assistant" and "Easy Ease". The hotkey for this one is "F9".

Our second task was creating a repeating background in a loop.

In the first step, we need to create a solid background and lock it.

As a second task, we are creating a shape that we wanted to animate.

Under the shape, there will be an "Add" button. We can use this to add a "Repeater"

After adding our repeater section, we create copies of our rectangle.

30 copies will be enough for now. The next thing we would like to do is animate this background.

When we go back to our rectangle, we can animate it from "position" by keying the beginning and the ending points to it.

We are combining our background and name but this time, we are also adding a frame to our animation. We can import our moving background over the files section at the top. This time, we will also create a "trace path" as a frame to our name. First, we are creating our rectangle and setting it to "no fill". Then we are enabling our stroke and moving our bar to where we wanted our animation to end. We are again using the "Add" section and adding "Trim Paths". We are clicking on "Rectangle 1" and under the "Box Path", Butt Cap>Round Cap, Mitre Join>Round Join.

Then we opened our transform rectangle 1 again and set the playhead to the point where we wanted our text to almost appear inside the box. Then we click on the stopwatch under the "trim paths1" option for "end" and set it to "0". Moving our playhead to the point our animation ends and setting the value back to "100".

Lastly, we want to give our frame an effect like it is the place where our name appears. We will use a "mask" for this. When we create a shape by using our shape tool inside one of our layers, It will become a mask. I created my mask where my frame is and set it to that point from start to end. We can also set it where our name was coming from but the first option looked easier and faster fom me.
